Here's what we've got going on. Only one thing to talk about today, Ben Kingsley will reprise his role of Trevor Slattery in the upcoming Wonder Man series. In the comics, Wonder Man is a Stark Industries employee who accepts an offer from Baron Zemo that gives him the powers of super strength and durability. 00;01;37;15 - 00;01;52;02 Kate Reports are that the series is going to be a satire of Hollywood with Wonder Man. Having been an actor and stunt man in the comics, the character is also likely to join the Thunder bolts in future endeavors. Back to you, Derek. 00;01;52;17 - 00;02;07;07 Derrick Yeah, and the Thunderbolts are kind of the antiheroes that the Julia Louis-Dreyfus character is forming. I guess with Kroger Cap and we've got Natasha's sister and we've got Zemo himself is going to kind of be one of the leaders of it. 00;02;07;27 - 00;02;11;01 Pete So I feel like there's going be like 12 people in that group. 00;02;11;10 - 00;02;25;02 Derrick There are there are there. This week, many, many moons ago, it was suggested that I may enjoy Thor Ragnarok as a marvel movie. So that's what we watch this week, because Love and Thunder is coming out on Thursday and had never seen Thor Ragnarok and it was what I was told I kind of needed to watch in order to get love and thunder, which I'm sure we will watch at some point. 00;03;09;23 - 00;03;18;01 Derrick Okay, Pete, can you kind of go through a fairly brief synopsis of what is the War Ragnarok? 00;03;19;21 - 00;03;29;06 Pete All right. So Thor Ragnarok picks up, I think after Avengers Age of Ultron, Thor is off on his own, doing his own thing, trying to save the universe. 00;03;29;18 - 00;03;33;22 Derrick The Age of Ultron, before or after Civil War. 00;03;33;22 - 00;03;51;00 Pete Is this so or war? Yeah. Thor and Hulk are the only two that don't show up in civil war. So this is like happening at the same time, kind of as civil war. So civil war is like completely separate. These two characters are off doing this. 00;03;51;00 - 00;03;57;27 Derrick While because I know noticed Thor was Thor had been Thor or I'm sorry, Hulk could have been Hulk for two years. 00;03;58;22 - 00;04;05;18 Pete So right. So he so that two years that was that the end of Age of Ultron Hulk flew off in the Quinn jet. 00;04;06;06 - 00;04;06;15 Derrick Okay. 00;04;06;18 - 00;04;33;10 Pete And so that's where Hulk was for two years, what Thor was doing during that time, we don't really know. He was with Jane Foster for a while and then he was off doing stuff. But anyways, he finds out that Loki, who he thought was dead in the previous Thor movie, which would have been, I think, the Dark world, the one that nobody should ever rebel. 00;04;33;10 - 00;04;35;15 Pete Yeah, that no one should ever spend time watching. 00;04;35;18 - 00;04;39;18 Kate The worst of any of the Marvel things. I've watch the super eternals. 00;04;39;28 - 00;04;40;21 Pete Eternals. 00;04;40;25 - 00;04;43;01 Kate Oh, no. Gog world was so much worse. 00;04;43;05 - 00;04;43;24 Pete Is it okay? 00;04;44;06 - 00;04;45;12 Kate Oh so bad. 00;04;46;26 - 00;05;07;12 Pete So anyways, he he he figures out or finds out that Loki is imitating his his father, Odin, and he goes back and basically confronts Loki. Loki has put Odin on earth. He tracks down Odin through it. 00;05;08;00 - 00;05;10;27 Derrick I love the various like I'm in a retirement home, right? 00;05;11;08 - 00;05;36;08 Pete Yeah. I stuck it in a retirement home and then eventually he ends up wandering off into the fjords of Norway or something. Anyway, as they find Odin, Odin says some stuff and passes away, but he indicates that when he dies, their sister HeLa, who's they who they didn't know about, who is also the goddess of death, will be released. 00;05;36;08 - 00;06;07;06 Pete This is all news to Loki in the war and everybody. Right. And and basically what ends up happening is she comes, she appears, smashes Thor's hammer, which, you know, he goes like and and she ends up going back to Asgard. And there's this plot throughout the movie of her trying to take over Asgard, which is like the B-Plot that eventually comes around to the plot at the end. 00;06;07;06 - 00;06;20;19 Pete But the main plot of this is Thor ends up getting knocked through the when he's going through the Bifrost, he ends up getting knocked onto this planet Sarkar and he gets captured and taken. 00;06;20;19 - 00;06;22;15 Derrick To the. 00;06;22;27 - 00;06;23;17 Pete J.M.. 00;06;24;03 - 00;06;27;04 Derrick Is that his name now for. 00;06;27;12 - 00;06;27;28 Kate Gamers? 00;06;27;28 - 00;06;32;00 Derrick Name the the Jeff Goldblum character. 00;06;33;04 - 00;06;37;15 Pete Actor, right? Jeff Goldblum being very Jeff Goldblum. 00;06;37;15 - 00;06;44;22 Derrick Very Jeff Goldblum. Very, very, very. Yes. 00;06;44;22 - 00;06;51;14 Pete And he ends up being taken prisoner and and put into the player. 00;06;52;05 - 00;06;53;18 Derrick The Grandmaster. Yeah. 00;06;53;29 - 00;07;27;20 Pete Grandmaster also though it doesn't say in this, the grandmaster is the brother of the collector. And if you mean the guardians of guardians, the galaxy ride out in the California. The Collector is in as part of the Guardians of the Galaxy universe. So anyways. But they're they're brothers apparently Thor ends up being sent to fight the the grandma or the Grand Masters champion who turns out to be Hulk. 00;07;27;20 - 00;07;50;07 Pete And so we get a big fight between Thor and Hulk. And then eventually, as is not a surprise, Loki ends up being there. Also, the person that captures him is Valkyrie, which is another character we're introduced to New who also happens to be Asgardian. The four of them end up teaming up together sort. 00;07;50;07 - 00;07;50;23 Derrick Of. 00;07;51;18 - 00;08;17;03 Pete To escape and they go back to Asgard and I'm obviously skipping over a lot of this stuff, but go back to Asgard and they end up fighting HeLa for Asgard, but then they figure out that they can't defeat her. So instead they, they basically it's all about the friends you made along the way. No, it's like all movies. 00;08;17;03 - 00;08;39;06 Pete That's the plot though. But basically they figure out all Asgard is really about the people. So rather than saving the planet of Asgard, they save the people and basically they instigate Ragnarok, which is this base, this big destruction of Asgard. And that is that's the only way to kill Ella. And which I think there's a lot. 00;08;39;12 - 00;08;51;29 Derrick A chance with the some of the music in this how when you're the God of what how they did not pull in AC DC thunderstruck at that point. That would have been the that that was the song. 00;08;52;06 - 00;09;03;02 Pete Well I think they I think they gave I think iron Man or something. I mean they gave earlier. Yeah, yeah. They gave ac DC to Tony Stark so they couldn't. 00;09;03;16 - 00;09;04;15 Derrick Yeah. Fair enough. 00;09;04;25 - 00;09;15;25 Pete I don't know. They decided they decided to use one Led Zeppelin song twice. Now they must they must have paid a lot of money that they didn't want to get a second song. 00;09;16;02 - 00;09;18;02 Derrick A little bit more than AC DC. So yeah. 00;09;19;02 - 00;09;42;13 Pete Yeah. So, so in the end they end up, there's, there's a lot of lot of comedy in my opinion, excuse me. And a lot of hijinx ensue throughout this movie and in the end, Thor rescues his people, gets them all on a spaceship, and they all live happily, happily ever after. 00;09;42;13 - 00;09;44;10 Derrick And till mid-credits. 00;09;45;01 - 00;09;55;20 Pete Until they run into Thanos, because this movie leads directly into Infinity War. So it goes badly for them at the end of this movie. 00;09;55;20 - 00;09;58;24 Derrick But yeah. 00;09;59;09 - 00;10;11;11 Pete We will. We won't worry about that. We'll just talk about this movie, which is, again, in my personal opinion, I'm going to say probably top three. 00;10;11;29 - 00;10;13;13 Kate Oh, absolutely. 00;10;13;26 - 00;10;14;24 Pete Probably top three. 00;10;14;24 - 00;10;17;13 Derrick Marvel, I it's hard. 00;10;17;13 - 00;10;25;14 Pete There's probably five movies that I would put in a top three role. And it's hard for me to tell at any one moment. 00;10;25;23 - 00;10;26;06 Derrick Which. 00;10;26;26 - 00;10;53;18 Pete Of those three I would. So it's definitely top five for me. I, I just think the humor works so well in this. I kind of pushed for us to watch this because I did see Thor, Love and Thunder, which is the same director and obviously a lot of the same characters and I guess I won't talk too much about that, but I think this is the superior movie to that movie, which we will probably watch in the future. 00;10;53;18 - 00;11;00;18 Pete And even though they try to do set a similar tone to this movie with that movie. 00;11;02;07 - 00;11;11;10 Derrick So well and that kind of leads us you've mentioned it and I want to go with you because you've seen a lot of them. Is this the funniest MCU movie? 00;11;11;18 - 00;11;52;21 Kate 100%. 100% this? That is what makes this movie, in my opinion. Taika Waititi is brilliant, a brilliant director. Everything Taika Waititi touches is very good, in my opinion. Yeah, it's everything from Jeff Goldblum being Jeff Goldblum, the the relationship between not Thor, between Hulk and Valkyrie, introducing Korg, who in my opinion is probably my favorite character in the Marvel Universe. 00;11;52;21 - 00;12;04;03 Kate And and just you get to see this is one of the first times you see Loki's funny side, you see Loki because if I remember in dark World, Loki is not funny. 00;12;04;08 - 00;12;07;19 Derrick But he is okay. He has a funny side in the original Avengers. 00;12;08;13 - 00;12;39;12 Kate That's true. That's true. But you get to see, in my opinion, a different side of Loki. Oh, my gosh. The part where Loki is pretending to be Odin and it like, oh my gosh, it's just it is in my opinion, it is the perfect blend of comedy action and drama, suspense. So good. So, Pete, what do you think? 00;12;40;00 - 00;12;53;16 Pete I agree. I also like the first guardians of the Galaxy in terms of humor. But I would agree that this movie just really tickles my funny bone. And every time I see it, there are scenes in it that I either. 00;12;54;17 - 00;12;54;23 Derrick Get. 00;12;54;23 - 00;13;16;29 Pete Bored or not caught before this particular one that really had me in stitches was when Korg was talking to Thor, or Thor was trying to explain how he would twirl his hammer to make him fly. And Korg was like just completely misunderstanding it and obviously was it was getting a little lewd. And that's or is not so the way you get your. 00;13;16;29 - 00;13;18;28 Derrick Hammer, get skipped, gets you off. 00;13;19;06 - 00;13;19;25 Pete And it's like. 00;13;20;07 - 00;13;21;01 Derrick Oh, no, no. 00;13;21;24 - 00;13;26;03 Kate Brilliant. It's like, yeah, sorry. It's so good. 00;13;26;14 - 00;13;48;23 Pete Yeah, it was that that scene just made me laugh so, so hard. But there's, there's a lot of little moments like that, even, you know, banter when he and I should say, even as Hulk Hulk is funny in this movie, which he's never funny. And but when he's banter, he's just like so, like, paranoid and everything like that. 00;13;48;23 - 00;14;12;05 Pete I just I just love the way that that Mark Ruffalo plays him in this movie. He definitely plays it as a comedic role 100%, which I don't think at any other point. Maybe in the new Miss Marvel series, he played it a little comedy. But, you know, Bruce Lee is usually the sorry She-Hulk. He's playing that for comedy, too. 00;14;12;05 - 00;14;25;01 Pete But yeah, I just I don't know. It's just when when Valkyrie shows up and she's coming down the ramp and she falls off the ramp. 00;14;25;01 - 00;14;25;23 Kate Yes. 00;14;26;21 - 00;14;27;00 Derrick I mean. 00;14;27;20 - 00;14;44;21 Pete The first time you see it, you know, spoiler, the first time you see it, you don't know what's coming. But even every time I've seen it knowing it's coming, it's just time so perfectly. I don't know. It's. I just find this movie hilarious. What did you think, Derek? I guess you're the you're the newbie to this movie. 00;14;44;21 - 00;15;06;13 Derrick It's not even the funniest one I've seen. Ant-Man was funnier. Email's funnier. Yeah, Ant-Man was funnier. Yes. The Paul Rudd all of the. And because they didn't go to me this had the same problem that the 2016 Ghostbusters had. They went for the cheap joke and the easy joke, her falling off the ramp is I mean, her being drunk and falling off the ramp. 00;15;06;13 - 00;15;14;18 Derrick Okay, so she's drunk and fill up the ramp. Who cares? It's just it's just an old comedy that doesn't do it for me at all. 00;15;15;05 - 00;15;17;01 Kate I think Korg was funny. 00;15;18;23 - 00;15;23;15 Derrick He was okay. Part of it is I had a hard time understanding what he was saying some of the time. 00;15;24;01 - 00;15;30;25 Kate When when Loki disappears and Korg runs up and goes, Piss off Ghost. And he was. 00;15;30;27 - 00;15;31;12 Derrick All. 00;15;32;08 - 00;15;41;04 Kate I cry like, Oh, my God, sorry, Derek. Keep going. 00;15;41;04 - 00;15;58;01 Derrick You know all this. I'm wrong. I'm. I don't know. It just. Were there moments that made me chuckle? Yes. Was there anything ever that made me laugh out loud? Now, it wasn't in this movie like there was an Ant-Man. So to me, this is not the funniest Marvel movie. 00;15;58;07 - 00;16;00;21 Pete I guess it's you got a different sense of humor from it. 00;16;01;17 - 00;16;11;09 Kate To be fair, though, did we set him up to fail, Pete? Because we went into there saying, Oh my God, this is the best movie. Oh, my God, it's so funny. Oh, my God, it's so funny. How do you think we. 00;16;11;09 - 00;16;13;23 Derrick Set him up really high? Because I think Derek. 00;16;14;03 - 00;16;25;02 Pete I think Derek takes all Marvel movies with a grain of salt, so I don't think he goes in with said that I'm going to love this. You know. 00;16;25;02 - 00;16;30;24 Derrick In a half I gave Shang-Chi a three. I mean, I go into this with a fairly open mind. 00;16;30;24 - 00;16;35;26 Pete I know you do, but I'm just. But I'm saying I don't. I don't. What I'm saying is what I keep saying is. 00;16;37;28 - 00;16;46;16 Derrick Sorry, go. How you guys said this is such a funny movie. This is such a funny movie. And then it's wasn't to me. Okay. 00;16;46;16 - 00;16;49;12 Kate Wondering if we if we set the expectations too high. 00;16;50;07 - 00;17;19;23 Derrick Yeah I just something to think about it anyway. Okay so we talk and now this movie is weird because it actually has multiple villains. It has a fire dude from the beginning, in the end who gets beat but then turned loose. It has Jeff Goldblum's character, who plays Jeff Goldblum in every Jeff Goldblum thing. And then we have Helga, who is as the main I would call the main villain. 00;17;19;23 - 00;17;55;29 Derrick And question is, is she a purely evil villain? And I'm going to say, no, I'm going to say she's not a purely evil villain. Her time with Odin, her time with her father, she worshiped her father. She loved doing everything with her father until he turned against her. So there's there's a reason. But you can see behind her eyes sometimes when she's talking about her father, there's something there that if Odin had accepted her again, I think she I don't think she would have been as purely evil. 00;17;56;20 - 00;18;04;14 Derrick So to me, she is not. Now, does she have very many redeeming actions within this movie? No, he doesn't. 00;18;04;29 - 00;18;08;02 Pete She she have any. 00;18;08;02 - 00;18;26;07 Derrick Yeah. She tries to save Asgard, he tries to save the court, he, she, she tries to save the land of Asgard. And to me, yes, it's because she wants to rule it. But at the same time, she could have just said, you know what, forget the land, there's the people I need to rule. And she could have gone that direction too. 00;18;26;07 - 00;18;33;22 Derrick And I don't think she got it. But still, to me, she's not purely evil. Kate, what do you think? 00;18;34;29 - 00;18;50;11 Kate I think she's a bad mama. Jamma. See, I. Oh, do I want to say this? Because this will ruffle feathers. I if we had to balance the scale between. 00;18;50;16 - 00;18;54;20 Derrick Bella and Thanos. 00;18;54;20 - 00;18;56;28 Kate I think Bella is the more evil of the. 00;18;56;28 - 00;19;10;03 Derrick Two. I would agree, even from not having seen a ton of either one of the Thanos movies, knowing Thanos, his motivation, knowing some of the stuff that about that, I would agree Bella is a more evil villain. 00;19;10;24 - 00;19;19;10 Kate Yeah, I would say, but and she just listen from a purely physical standpoint, anybody who can make. 00;19;19;12 - 00;19;19;18 Derrick That. 00;19;20;28 - 00;19;53;02 Kate Come out of their head like this, like not you got, you got some evil in you, man. Like there. I just don't see a lot of I think she is a great villain. I think she's a fantastic villain. But her her I don't even know what the word I want is her aura. No, her not jealousy. Her power, hunger, power hungry ness makes it where she can't see. 00;19;53;02 - 00;20;27;10 Kate It's the people to lead, not the place. It's what you just said. And she's led. She's. I feel like she's led by greed. And she's led by power that power hungry. And to me, that's that's pretty gosh darn evil. But yeah, I mean, I have trouble seeing a lot of like I don't have as much trouble looking at Thanos and the things that Thanos says and the things that Thanos does and being like, All right, well, I don't know you you're kind of a terrible dude, but I sort of see where you're coming from. 00;20;27;10 - 00;20;29;22 Kate But you're also kind of a terrible dude, so. 00;20;29;24 - 00;20;30;03 Derrick Kind. 00;20;30;03 - 00;20;31;09 Kate Of it you go. 00;20;32;27 - 00;20;56;12 Pete And I'm going to disagree with Derek. I think she's pretty much as evil as can be. I mean, I do get the point that, like, for her, she did this with her dad. That's that's what they did is they invaded these other territories. But like, you know, even if she and then he imprisoned her because she basically wanted to keep killing everybody and he decided he didn't want to keep killing everybody. 00;20;56;12 - 00;21;18;14 Pete I guess, but he couldn't work it out with her. I don't know. They didn't really tell us too much about what went on between the two of them, but he basically imprisoned her and yeah, so she's obviously mad at him, but like even the concept that like she wants to come back and rule Asgard, but like the first thing she wants to do is kill everybody else in Asgard. 00;21;18;14 - 00;21;22;12 Pete That's not ruling. 00;21;22;12 - 00;21;24;04 Derrick No, that's not ruling. 00;21;24;14 - 00;21;50;01 Pete Well, I mean, if you kill everybody. So I don't know. It was it was a strange okay, it's a strange choice. And like none of her actions are at any point very redeeming. So I just I mean, is there a little bit of does she have reason for being evil? Okay, yeah, fine. But she is pretty much straight up evil. 00;21;50;01 - 00;22;13;24 Pete There isn't a lot of you know, there's some there's some Marvel villains that and you know, Baron we talked about Baron Zemo earlier, and he has this kind of logical motivation behind what he's doing because of, you know, his family being killed and things like that. And so you can kind of accept that. And I said, I've I've never really felt that way about Thanos, even though like his yeah. 00;22;13;24 - 00;22;42;09 Pete His the base motivation is good, but like there's certainly better ways to go about it there. Thanos You know, than killing half to get half the universe. So I don't know. It's she's she's really to me, I mean and she played and Cate Blanchett is great in the role, even though it is a fairly one note role. I mean, she just she plays it as evil. 00;22;42;23 - 00;22;49;11 Pete I mean, it's kind of it's to me, it's almost wicked queen, isn't it? Like it's almost like she's way. Is it like. 00;22;49;20 - 00;22;52;04 Derrick To me it's wicked queen but not quite Maleficent. 00;22;53;00 - 00;23;13;17 Pete No, not quite Maleficent. But like but that kind of like, you know, that kind of like over the top I'm, you know, I'm, I'm bad and I know it and I can do whatever I want in that type of stuff. And it's it's a lot of fun of the role. I mean, I really do and I do enjoy her in it, as I said, even though it's kind of a one note role. 00;23;13;17 - 00;23;17;26 Pete But, you know, she she's certainly seems like she's having fun with it, that's for sure. 00;23;19;04 - 00;23;26;23 Derrick Yeah, I would probably. But you brought up a point. She's no Maleficent. No, no. 00;23;27;13 - 00;23;32;17 Pete Well, she was also she's also mad about not being invited and true. 00;23;33;11 - 00;23;55;10 Derrick Okay, Pete, I'm going to go to you on this question. Is this plot and movie really needed in the MCU canon or is it just a fun movie they made that doesn't really matter. And I think we just glitch with Pizzagate. I'm going to go to you on that question. 00;23;55;15 - 00;23;57;04 Kate Yeah, I think. 00;23;58;06 - 00;23;58;20 Derrick I. 00;23;58;20 - 00;24;04;06 Kate Oh, go ahead, Pete. Did he still glitch? 00;24;04;07 - 00;24;05;27 Derrick I think so, yeah. Okay. 00;24;06;24 - 00;24;37;00 Kate Yeah. So this is this is hard. I don't think it's as canon driven as the Avengers or as Civil War. It's not as it's not as as canon driven. Is that. But you do it does bring Hulk back into the story. It does give us a little bit more insight into Thor and Thor and Loki's whole relationship. It does introduce Valkyrie. 00;24;37;15 - 00;24;58;12 Kate It introduces the game master or the grandmaster. So while it's not one of the like Pivotal, Pivotal, you have to see this to understand anything at all in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It does add a lot of connectors. So, Pete, you're back. What do you think. 00;24;58;17 - 00;25;20;04 Pete I am back? I don't know what's going on. My connection keeps dropping on me. I more lean the other way. I think this one is I mean, you're you're right. There's a little bit of connection with Hulk. There's a little bit of connection with Thor. If you went to Infinity War without this movie, you wouldn't get why the first 5 minutes of that movie are what they are. 00;25;20;20 - 00;25;25;15 Derrick That's what I explain in our world. Why does he what does he get from Loki? Does he get the tesseract from Loki because Loki stole it or not? 00;25;37;18 - 00;25;39;12 Pete Yes. So obviously in this movie. 00;25;39;27 - 00;25;45;12 Derrick Because it's been so long and I've seen like that once flipping through it once on TBS type thing. Yeah. 00;25;45;12 - 00;26;12;19 Pete So, so, so I mean without going too far to Infinity War, the first 5 minutes of Infinity War is goes right from the end of this. Thanos is on the Asgard shift ship. He's killed half the people he wants. The Tesseract, Loki offers. Well, they try to try to have Hulk kill or fight Thanos, and he beats the crap out of Hulk. 00;26;13;04 - 00;26;31;06 Pete And then I forget why he kills Loki, but anyways, he kills Loki to get the test track and b jettisons Thor in the space. Excuse me guys. So those first 5 minutes, I guess you kind of need to know this movie, but. 00;26;34;04 - 00;26;55;20 Derrick I think it was going to say we don't really need to have this plot in the MCU canon. And I kind of agree with that because I had never seen because I had never seen this movie and I understood the beginning of Infinity War. Okay. Hulk and Thanos and Loki are on a ship, and who cares? I mean, like, as far as I don't care why they're on a ship together. 00;26;56;16 - 00;27;33;24 Derrick So to me, this to me, this didn't really need to be in MCU camp just because it doesn't progress the story much. So I think that's that's kind of where you were heading to, wasn't it? Yeah. Yeah. So okay, as we always do, cups of pixie dust out of five for this movie, Kate That's for sure. Okay. Yeah, I give it a five. 00;27;33;25 - 00;27;35;27 Pete This is probably the fourth or fifth time I've watched. 00;27;35;27 - 00;27;36;02 Derrick It. 00;27;37;11 - 00;27;46;01 Pete And I still had a great time watching it. I don't get tired. I don't get tired of it. I can't I don't know what to take off for this movie for me. 00;27;47;09 - 00;28;09;27 Derrick Okay. I'm I'll be honest. I'm sitting here looking at the other ratings I've given things. I'll give it a two and a half just because if there are certain scenes that I will not flip past automatically, there are certain scenes that I would watch again, but I would not watch this movie again. What did you. 00;28;09;27 - 00;28;14;15 Pete Like about the movie, Derek? I mean, because obviously two and a half that's not you're not giving it a one or something. 00;28;14;28 - 00;28;39;07 Derrick There were scenes like the scenes when he's fighting when Thor is fighting Hulk, I thought the last 30 minutes was probably the best 30 minutes of the movie. And yes, that was the most marvelous part of the movie. But I thought the last one I mean, was it predictable that the executioner was going to flip and go the other back the other direction? 00;28;39;07 - 00;29;07;13 Derrick Absolutely. You can read that all over his face. But there were moments in there of like the gladiator esque flashback of him going to Odin says you are the yeah. The interaction with him and his father there at the end of what are you the God of you're not the god of hammers. Yeah, but how does he get his hammer back, by the way? 00;29;09;02 - 00;29;09;18 Pete He doesn't. 00;29;09;25 - 00;29;10;12 Derrick Well. 00;29;10;20 - 00;29;11;12 Pete He eventually does. 00;29;11;20 - 00;29;15;21 Derrick Because he has it in endgame. Oh, well. 00;29;16;05 - 00;29;19;19 Pete That's all time travel stuff. 00;29;20;01 - 00;29;20;15 Derrick Oh, hey. 00;29;20;27 - 00;29;22;15 Kate You wobbly timey? Yeah, but I mean, I'm gonna give it a two and a half because there are scenes that I would watch, some of the scenes with Loki, I would watch that was that is by far not the best elevator scene in any Marvel movie. There are better elevator scenes. I will go the other direction. 00;29;44;07 - 00;30;03;10 Derrick I did not think the Bruce Banner part was funny. I thought it was just kind of annoying with him. What am I going to do? I don't want to turn it back in to him. What am I going to do? What I don't want to do. We knew he was going to turn back into the Hulk. So it it he if he was trying to play it angsty, he didn't play angsty enough. 00;30;04;15 - 00;30;27;27 Derrick So but anyway, so there were some things I liked about it. But this is not even in the top two of the Marvel rankings of given the Ant-Man is still the top ranking, I've given it three and a half and I will stick with that one. And I actually gave Sankey a three. Wow. So I like Sankey better than this. 00;30;28;16 - 00;30;29;04 Kate Wow. 00;30;29;05 - 00;30;34;18 Derrick Yeah, it's just to me, this is the same rating as the original Avengers. 00;30;35;23 - 00;30;37;23 Kate Which is a great movie. 00;30;39;02 - 00;30;41;10 Derrick Which is an okay movie. 00;30;41;10 - 00;31;12;13 Pete Again, the thing to me with this one and I think why it's Drax strikes me, is that the whole concept of Thor and a lot of these characters in this movie are inherently silly. And so I admit that this movie is silly, but like it takes itself less serious than a lot of the Marvel movies do. And I do enjoy that a lot because a lot of them take themselves very and in fact, the first two Thor movies took themselves extremely seriously. 00;31;12;13 - 00;31;33;12 Pete And and that's why they didn't work that well, especially the second one was very, very serious. And, you know, Thor to me is a character that works much better as this guy that is kind of he's not an idiot, but but he's like, you know, just a little bit of. 00;31;33;18 - 00;31;34;28 Derrick Really? Yeah. What? 00;31;35;09 - 00;31;49;17 Pete Yeah, it just it just doesn't take it seriously. And so to me, you know, I really enjoy this. I do have to say, if you didn't like this, you probably won't like love and thunder, but you will right now. 00;31;49;17 - 00;31;52;09 Derrick What I like guardians of. 00;31;53;24 - 00;32;12;01 Pete I don't know with you, Derek. It's hard to tell. I mean, it was written in Guardians is, is, is more playful fun then then this is I mean, I said I admit this movie is silly, which I don't think Guardians is quite as silly as this movie. 00;32;12;01 - 00;32;13;20 Kate It still has its silly moments. 00;32;13;20 - 00;32;17;07 Pete But there's there's silly stuff in there, of course.
